What doesn't kill you...

...can only make you stronger.  This is true in life as well as in the gym.  I've tried to push myself beyond my limits lately and it seems to be making a difference.  I did a great chest/shoulder workout this morning which included an increase in my bench press weight.
  • Bench press: 4 reps at 85 lbs -highest to date, 2 sets/6 reps at 80 lbs, and 2 sets/10 reps at 75 lbs.
  • Pull ups: It wasn't a back day, which is when I have been working towards unassisted wide grip pull ups.  However, while my sports conditioning kids were playing football this morning I saw a pull up bar and decided to see what I had in me.  3 sets of 3 unassisted wide grip pull ups AND 2 sets up 5 unassisted underhand/chin ups.  POW!
Now, lets see if I can get to my goal of 115 lbs by Christmas....

In order to get there I am decreasing my carb intake a little and increasing my water consumption.  I totally forgot about adding raw apple cider vinegar to my water until I read a post by Tosca Reno and was quickly reminded that it helps reduce bloating.  We'll see if I have luck with this plan!
